REVIEWS
Madi was friendly and super helpful when she explained water color and gouache. It was my wife?s first time using either medium and I?m a novice, so her insight was awesome! She?s a great facilitator and we thoroughly enjoyed our time learning to paint with her. We will be back!

Magnolia flowers bloom in Nashville from late May until late July. They?re about 12? across. The best ones hide in shade. Magnolia blooms open for pollination about 9:30-10:00 a.m. I capture the image before pollination. Once pollinated magnolia blooms quickly begin turning brown. I capture the image when she?s still a virgin, it is the height of her beauty, aroma and radiance,

When I saw the frame I knew I wanted to use it for my Nesting Series. It is usually the other way around. ?Feels like Home? measures 15? x 18? including the frame & 8? x 11? in the painted section. It is an acrylic mixed media painting on wood created with a palette knife & is textured. The nest took hundreds of strokes with a palette knife & many layers of paint on top to achieve the effect of straw. I am fascinated by how much work & intricate detail it takes by these beautiful birds to cre

This painting was a commission for a lovely couple who lost their boy Kirko in January of this year. I was honored to paint a portrait of their boy and his sister to ease a little pain during such a difficult time of loss. I used modeling paste to add texture, and completed the painting with acrylics.

This oil on canvas was created using an old masters approach to oil painting.? Its first thoroughly rendered as an under painting using only raw umber. The final reflects several layers of glazing or varnishing in between the stages to add depth for the viewer. Local transparent color is then added, another layer of varnish, then the artist begins the actual painting process using opaque colors adding highlights and shadows. This approach allows the viewer to look into the painting, rather than

Title or Location: LAST COFFEE IN MY AUTUMN GARDEN
I live in Edmond. My house is small and so is my backyard. My favorite spot is the patio where I enjoy my first cup of coffee in the morning.I love cats, had quite a few over the years, and presently have two. My backyard and the various critters that visit are my constant source of inspiration. The painting truly depicts the last cup of coffee in the garden. Cold weather set in but in Spring I was out there again. Most of my paintings feature a cat and some part of my backyard.
